Our Mission
My Power Foundation is a 501(c)(3) NGO with the vision to bring together people who want to make a difference in the lives of people less fortunate in a direct way through specific philanthropic projects. The key goal of My Power Foundation is to provide ways for people to donate in a manner that allows them to have direct ownership of the results and to feel a personal connection to those they are helping.
Our History
My Power Foundation was founded in February 2010 by Patricia Szriftgiser to be a vehicle for ordinary people to give to families in despair in new and creative ways. Our initial project was “Families Adopting Families”, a holiday program where we identify underprivileged or struggling families and partner them with donors to provide deserving families with the items they need.
In the aftermath of the January 2010 Haiti Earthquake My Power Foundation together with Samaritan Air delivered food and supplied to Jacmel Village, a community outside Port of Prince, that was unable to receive deliveries from the main airport.
